Build A Bear On A Budget
Is it possible to Dress your Build A Bear On A Budget? YES!!
Last week was my granddaughter’s 7th birthday. I had bought her a pair of shoes and I was taking her to Target to exchange them for a different size. The week before her birthday, she had received some money as a birthday gift and she had chosen to go to Build a Bear (something she had always wanted to do) and she picked out a pink and white poodle and dressed it in a cute little pink princess outfit. The total was close to $30. As we were driving to Target, we were discussing her cute little poodle, which she named Sophie, and she told me that she had wanted some shoes for Sophie but she had already spent all of her money. Of course, being her Grammy, I wanted to rush right over to Build a Bear, and buy her those shoes but my money is tight too, so I started thinking about how we could get Sophie some shoes. I decided that we would make a trip to Goodwill after we went to Target and see what we could find.
After leaving Target, I needed to make a trip to Dollar Tree which was just a few stores down. When we got inside the store it started pouring down rain…thunder, lightening…ugh! We were stuck inside for a while! We started looking all around and guess what? We found a few cute items for Sophie and we never did make that trip to Goodwill!
Here are the items we found: a glittery pink cat collar, a glittery pink leash, a pink princess bowl, socks that look like maryjane shoes, and an infant bathing suit!
We actually got two packages of socks because one package had a pink pair and blue pair and we needed 4 socks for Sophie! So she now has 2 sets of shoe/socks – a pink set and a blue set!
This what Sophie’s sock/shoes look like:
We then proceeded to try out the infant bathing suit on Sophie. I cut the straps and made them tie around her neck so that the bathing suit would stay on and it worked perfectly!
I then cut a small hole for her tail to go through.
We then added her cute pink glittery collar and leash and my granddaughter was ready to take Sophie for a walk!
After going for a walk, Sophie got a little thirsty so she “drank some water” from her new princess water bowl!
When we got home, Emma showed Sophie to Mommy and Daddy and they thought Grammy had taken her to Build a Bear! Our total for these items (2 sets of shoes, a bathing suit, a collar, a leash, and a bowl) was only $6!
We plan to keep an eye out at Goodwill and Dollar Tree for other great items that we can buy for Sophie! She is one spoiled dog!
Best of all, Emma is happy and we had fun making new memories together!
