Put a Beat to It
Everything is better with some music in it. Everybody knows it, it’s a fact. Then why not make your cleaning activities a notch easier with a little song time – to the tune of their favorite song, come up with your own version including your kids’ names. For example, start with If You’re Happy and You Know It’s first lines and continue with “If your name is [insert kid’s name here], please pick up.” The sweetest sound to a person is hearing their own name, regardless of their age. By coming up with this song, you will make them feel personally engaged in the cleaning process and they’ll realize you won’t take no for an answer.

We always put on music to clean. It helps them and me to stay on task and get it done!
I need to start putting on music when we clean! Maybe it’ll motivate me and the kids more!
These are good ideas! I need to make sure and tuck them away once my kids are old enough to help with chores!
Love the idea of picking chores randomly! That does take some of the pressure off! And of course music makes everything more fun! 🙂
Oh I need all of the how to get your kids to clean tips. I’m over here like Cinderella!
We have toys in my library so when it’s time to clean up I make it a race. Whoever can beat Miss Rachee cleaning up can get a sticker! Stickers are always a hit.
Great advice, I think it’s super important for kids to collaborate with the chores, that way they learn the value of hard work!
This was my worst nightmare as a child and it is still a nightmare as an adult. Maybe I’ll try these tips on myself now. I’m 30 haha
